“長話短說﹐短話更短的說”﹐我不知道這是不是寫blog的一大原則。
關於金融﹐有一些人和一些事是我特別感興趣的﹐索羅斯是其中之一。從傳媒(尤其是本地的)得來的印像﹐索羅斯無非就是大鱷一條。讀他的<The
Alchemy of
Finance>時﹐我也是出於學習投機的心態﹐冷不防他竟然說到人生的意義(嘩﹗)﹐而我讀後又仿彿若有所悟。以下文字出自此書的後記﹕
“I also have some views on what could be called the meaning of life in
the objective sense – if it were not a contradiction in terms to use the
word “objective” in this context. I start from the position that every
human endeavor is flawed: if we were to discard everything that is
flawed there would be nothing left. We must therefore make the most of
what we have; the alternative is to embrace death. The choice is a real
one, because death can be embraced in a number of ways; the pursuit of
perfection and eternity in all it manifestations is equivalent to
choosing the idea of death over the idea of life. If we carry this line
of argument to its logical conclusion, the meaning of life consists of
the flaws in one’s conceptions and what one does about them. Life can be
seen as a fertile fallacy.”
我不逐字逐句翻譯了﹐不是我懶惰﹐而是我根本就功力不足(就算功力足﹐都幾難翻得不失神韻)。此段文字的大概意思是﹕人並不完美﹐人生並不完美﹐如果不完
美的我們就不要﹐那就什麼都沒有了。我們只能盡量利用我們所有的﹔另一選擇是擁抱死亡。追求完美和永恆等同選擇死亡。人生的意義包含著我們的觀念上的缺失
與及我們怎樣面對這些缺失。人生可以看成是一個豐盛的謬誤。

一些意外收穫。
